In the recent past, the number of expatriates moving to Dubai has been increasing at an alarming rate. This is because the city is a popular destination for many reasons including a lower cost of living compared to other popular cities like Paris and London. You should leave all the biases behind and be ready to have an adventurous experience of a lifetime in Dubai.

Here are tips on how to relocate to Dubai

  1. Ensure you have the right documents

It is important to ensure that your paperwork is in order before moving to Dubai. Your passport should be valid for at least six months and not due to expire during your stay. Apart from the passport, you should make sure other relevant documents such as bank statements, marriage certificate and others are certified.

  1. The cost of living

Dubai is known for its glitz and glamour. However, for most things, the cost of living is much lower than in most popular cities. Nevertheless, the cost may vary based on an individual’s lifestyle and preferences. The city can accommodate a luxurious and budget-friendly lifestyle. From luxury apartments in the Bluewaters Residences to family villas in the Arabian Ranches Dubai, the Dubai property market always has something for everyone.

  • Put your finances in order

Since there are numerous commercial banks located in Dubai, opening a bank account is pretty simple. You must be a resident to open a checking account. However, other banks allow even non-resident to open a saving account. When opening a bank account, you should have copies of your passport, residency or work permit or a letter from your employer confirming your salary.

  1. Find a job

No matter where you are from, working in Dubai can be financially rewarding. The net income is much higher than in most countries because there is no personal tax. Since the UAE is a Muslim country, work days start on Sunday and end on Thursday while the weekend is on Friday and Saturday. During the holy month of Ramadhan, working hours are reduced to six hours a day. However on a typical day, the work day starts from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

  1. Get a place to live

It can be very challenging to find a place to live when moving to a new country. Currently, there are various off plan properties for sale in Dubai. The biggest benefit of the off-plan method is that prices are low and the payment terms are friendly. For instance, District One Residences in MBR City development are sold at low prices compared to completed projects in the neighbourhood. Also, if you want to rent, you can get affordable units at the CityWalk Apartments Dubai.
